Carolina Ballet was launched in 1997, under the direction of artistic director Robert Weiss, to serve the ever-expanding Triangle community that includes Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Research Triangle Park, Fuquay-Varina and beyond. After only six seasons, Carolina Ballet with a budget of $4.4 million is being recognized as one of the top ten ballet companies in the country. The company totals 30 dancers and will perform 58 times in Raleigh and Winston-Salem between September 2004 and May 2005.
